Nov. 23, 2008 Anna's 28th birthday; making cider

Last Saturday, Nov. 15th, dawned a bright and sunny day, perfect for a day of making cider. We had alot of Braeburn apples so decided it was enough to make cider. We borrowed a cider press from our friends and proceeded with the process of spraying the apples off, running them through the chopper while Wayne manually turned the handle. David and Hannah, (Carissa had to work), Anna, Josiah, Micah and Cambria came also. It was a nice experience for Josiah, Micah and Hannah to see where apple juice comes from and how it is done. They sure enjoyed drinking it too. It was great having David and Anna there to help; cleaning and straining the juice and Anna made lunch for kids (thanks to Kraft Mac & Cheese).

Everybody has a job to do.

Cambria enjoyed watching all from the comfort of the backpack

Josiah wanting a drink and a "baked doughnut" that I had made that morning.

Wayne is cleaning out the gator of all the apple residue

We got a total of 20 gallons. Yum, it is so good!

Happy Birthday to Anna! Today is her 28th birthday! We'll celebrate her birthday later this week. We hope she had a restful and enjoyable day. Here is a picture of Anna and her big sister, Carissa. Anna is 2 weeks old and Carissa is 2 1/2 yrs. old.

Aw, thanks mom! That was sweet to post that picture! At least it was a baby picture and not a ridiculous picture of what I looked like as a lil girl! You and Dad are great parents I am blessed! Love ya both! Thanks!

"We had alot of Braeburn..."

"A lot" is two words

"We borrowed a cider press from our friends and proceeded with the process of spraying the apples off, running them through the chopper while Wayne manually turned the handle."

This is a fragmented sentence. Using a semi-colon in place of the comma would solve this problem. Also, "proceeded with the process" sounds strange. I would suggest, "...and began the process of spraying the apples off, then running them through the chopper while Wayne manually turned the handle."

I hope you'll make a greater effort to avoid further grammatical contingencies in future posts.

Haha, just kidding. Good post and cute pictures. Can I have a gallon of juice? My fridge is lonely because there's nothing inside. =)

That was some YUMMY cider too! Wish I could have been there to help too! Hannah seemed to enjoy it and talked about how yummy it was too. :)
