In memory of; catching up - Sept. & Oct.

This post is in memory of Daniel Rands who would have turned 15 years old on November 2nd. Wayne and I were on a Sunday afternoon drive to check out the fall leaves and happened by the church and graveyard where Daniel was buried. We hadn't been there for a long time and decided to see if we knew anyone else besides Daniel. There were a few names that we recognized and also found Daniel's gravestone. We will always hold the memory of Daniel in our hearts, as I'm sure his parents, Barry and Janine will also.

Anna brought her children over one fall day when Hannah was at our house. To give the kids something to do, she gave them crayons, fall leaves and paper which they colored over and left the imprint of leaves. They did a pretty good job too!

Birthdays celebrations are usually combined in our family. Doesn't this bunch look excited? We got together to celebrate Russ, Maribeth and Dan's birthdays.

On a fall day a couple of weeks ago, David, Carissa, a guest of their's, Hannah, myself, Micah and Josiah went to Airlie Hill Family Farms (across from the old Earl Kennel farm) in Monmouth. The kids enjoyed themselves playing in the grain surrounded by hay bales, hay slide, hay fort and hay maze. If it would have been on a weekend they could have gotten a hay ride.

Wayne planted 3 different kinds of beans this summer. He said we might have a hard winter with the food prices so high and need something good to eat. :-) I haven't tried them yet but do that soon.

When we started to paint our house late in the summer, we tore down the old and leaky gutters. Last week on a cold and rainy day 2 men came and installed continuous gutters that almost perfectly matched the new color of trim. It was worth the extra $95. We still have bad siding to replace and will be doing that when weather permits.

I thought you said it didn't work? Well, those are great pictures! I didn't know you stopped and looked at Daniel's grave. How fun to have so much to do! :)
